Melvich Community SCIO do not hold a liquor licence.
Under the terms of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 it is lawful to sell/supply alcohol in unlicensed premises through the granting of an Occasional Licence by the Licensing Board. When our new community hub has been constructed and is available for use then there may be events planned that may require an occasional licence. Activities such as dances, discos, dinner dances, wedding receptions, parties (where a disco or band is provided) or beer tents at a larger event such as a gala or music festival, are generally accepted by the Licensing Board as suitable events for the granting of an occasional licence.
Please note that any applications for an occasional licence must be lodged at least six weeks in advance of the event, and earlier than that if possible, particularly if it is anticipated that the application will attract objections or representations. Where there are no objections and/or adverse representations, it is normally anticipated that applications will be processed and issued within 28 days.
We hope that this information helps you in the planning for any events that you may wish to hold at our new community hub in the future. We will upload any occasional licences held on this webpage in the future if any are applied for.
Files coming soon.
